Dubai – DIFC Sculpture Park
Installed at the Dubai International Financial Centre as part of the fourth edition of the DIFC Sculpture Park, Guardian Elevation is situated within one of Dubai’s most emblematic architectural environments.
Positioned near the monumental entrance arch of the district, with the Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future in direct perspective, the work establishes a dialogue with the vertical scale and structural intensity of the surrounding urban landscape.
Conceived as a spatial marker, the sculpture operates as a vertical punctuation within an international context in constant evolution. Its structured presence introduces a readable axis into the public space, accompanying architectural flows and perspectives without competing with them.

DIFC Sculpture Park, Fourth Edition
Enduring Forms
Presented within the framework of the fourth edition of the DIFC Sculpture Park, titled Enduring Forms, the open-air exhibition brings together more than fifty artworks created by twenty-seven international artists representing thirteen nationalities from the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
This edition explores the relationship between raw material, transformation and lasting inscription across space, time and memory, a thematic context closely aligned with the conceptual development of the Guardian series.
The opening of the program gathered more than two hundred professionals, including artists, architects, collectors and institutional representatives, confirming the cultural and architectural significance of the event within the financial district.

Monumental Continuity
Beyond its installation at DIFC, Guardian Elevation forms part of a broader body of monumental sculptures conceived to engage contemporary architecture and contribute to the cultural structuring of urban territories.
Each project is developed in direct relation to its architectural environment, perspectives, uses and territorial identity.
The approach does not consist in adding an object into space, but in establishing a presence capable of accompanying a site with lasting architectural ambition.
Through his monumental interventions, Xavier Magaldi develops a coherent formal language adaptable to diverse cultural and geographic contexts, while maintaining a strong and immediately recognizable sculptural identity.
Production and Installation
Executed in corten steel, the sculpture is designed for long-term outdoor integration and adapted to the climatic conditions of the Gulf region.
The work was fabricated in Geneva and transported to Dubai in a custom-built protective structure ensuring its integrity during international freight.
On-site installation required precise technical coordination, integrating structural engineering, specialized logistics and compliance with DIFC Sculpture Park requirements.
Each phase, from conception to positioning, reflects a methodology that combines artistic vision, structural precision and an understanding of contemporary urban dynamics.

Enduring Forms
Installée au Dubai International Financial Centre dans le cadre de la quatrième édition du DIFC Sculpture Park, Guardian Elevation s’inscrit dans l’un des environnements architecturaux les plus emblématiques de Dubaï.
Positionnée à proximité de l’arche monumentale marquant l’entrée du district, avec en perspective les Emirates Towers et le Museum of the Future, l’œuvre établit un dialogue direct avec l’échelle verticale et la densité structurelle du paysage urbain.
Conçue comme un repère spatial, la sculpture agit comme une ponctuation verticale au sein d’un contexte international en constante évolution. Sa présence structurée introduit un axe lisible dans l’espace public, accompagnant les flux et perspectives architecturales sans les concurrencer.
Présentée dans le cadre de la quatrième édition du DIFC Sculpture Park, intitulée Enduring Forms, l’exposition en plein air réunit plus de cinquante œuvres réalisées par 27 artistes internationaux représentant treize nationalités, issus du Moyen-Orient, d’Europe et d’Asie.
Cette édition explore la relation entre matière brute, transformation et inscription durable dans l’espace, le temps et la mémoire, un contexte particulièrement en résonance avec la démarche développée à travers la série Guardian.
L’inauguration du programme a rassemblé plus de deux cents professionnels, artistes, architectes, collectionneurs et représentants institutionnels, confirmant l’ancrage culturel et architectural de l’événement au sein du district financier.
Production et installation
Réalisée en acier Corten, l’œuvre est pensée pour une intégration durable en environnement extérieur et adaptée aux contraintes climatiques du Golfe.
La sculpture a été fabriquée en atelier à Genève, puis transportée à Dubaï dans une structure de protection conçue sur mesure afin de garantir son intégrité lors du transport international.
L’installation sur site a nécessité une coordination technique précise, intégrant ingénierie structurelle, logistique spécialisée et conformité aux exigences du DIFC Sculpture Park.
Chaque étape, de la conception à la mise en place, reflète une méthodologie associant vision artistique, précision constructive et compréhension des dynamiques urbaines contemporaines.

Au-delà de son implantation au DIFC, Guardian Elevation s’inscrit dans un corpus de sculptures monumentales conçues pour dialoguer avec l’architecture contemporaine et contribuer à la structuration culturelle des territoires urbains.
Chaque projet est développé en relation avec son environnement architectural, ses perspectives, ses usages et son identité territoriale.
L’approche ne consiste pas à ajouter un objet dans l’espace, mais à inscrire une présence capable d’accompagner durablement un site à forte ambition architecturale.
À travers ses interventions monumentales, Xavier Magaldi développe un langage formel cohérent, adaptable à différents contextes culturels et géographiques, tout en conservant une identité sculpturale forte et immédiatement reconnaissable.
